Responsibilities:
Provide necessary data management, literature review, statistical and economic research support, and contribute to research work, publications, project related analysis, and outreaching activities. More specifically:
- Curate and manage key data as directed, such as macroeconomics, infrastructure sector investment data, firm financial reports, satellite imagery-based and other spatial data, and mobile-based, web scrapped, crowd-sourced or other modern microdata.
- Compile, synthesize, and review relevant literature, documents, news and so on, and provide timely, high-quality and fit for purpose write-ups for research projects, policy notes, approach papers, blog posts and other tasks.
- Conduct statistical/econometric analysis and theoretical modelling to support analytical work of the Department, including but not limited to the flagship reports, project impact assessments, research initiatives.
- Contribute to project cost-benefit analysis, region/country macroeconomic updates, and sector context and market structure analysis as requested by the project teams or by the management.
- Provide other analytical and operational support to the Department as needed.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD program or a Postdoctoral Research Fellow program, preferably in economics, development, public policy, finance, statistics, data science, but could also be enrolled in sciences with a focus on research on climate change, nature, inclusion and health.
- Relevant data and analytical support experience in large international organizations, universities, research institutions, think-tanks or financial institutions is a plus.
- Proficiency in common statistical software, modelling software, and data visualization, such as Stata, Python, R, MATLAB, is required.
- Excellent data management, statistical and econometric analysis and/or theoretical modelling skills are required.
- Strong knowledge and experience in geospatial analysis and data science will be an advantage.
- Fluent in oral and written English and excellent communication skills.
